And So Sang Coyote

call me coyote
yes, my breaths come in canticles
as it crawls up towards the sky
each exhalation shakes the dunes
like a thousand grains gone by

The Flight of Diana, August 13th, Aricia

she takes off her clothes
to spill the blood of another
two-story god
with a building in his body
and vines cracking his facade

Low Star

Low star, pull your pants up

Low star, slippry and dense

Low star, walk the rooftops

Low star, impervious.

This new concoction takes the piss, sir

Limerick Prompts

I recently started posting limerick prompts (I call them Limerick-Offs) on a regular basis, roughly two or three times a week. You can always find my latest Limerick-Off here. And for those who are active on Facebook, I'm also doing the Limerick-Offs on my Facebook page. As a matter of fact, it's really taken off on Facebook, with a good number of regular participants. The way they work is I post a limerick and encourage prompt participants to write their own limerick using the same first line. I very much hope you'll participate on my blog and/or on Facebook.

The Masquerade

Go on, polish your mask

Keep it on, don’t you falter

Don’t let it break, don’t let it fall

Because all the world’s a stage

And the masquerade never ends
